Revenues from Henry County’s special-purpose local option sales tax are up considerably over several years, although the most recent numbers are down slightly from a year ago.

In a report given at the Board of Commissioners meeting May 4, $3,164,427 was reported for April, the first month of collections in the latest SPLOST that was approved by voters last November. By comparison, the first monthly report from the previous SPLOST in April of 2013 was $2,480,261.

It was also noted that the 2020 figure was about $211,000 lower than the same month last year, a 6-percent drop likely due to the COVID-19 shutdown.
