A south Fulton County church was broken into early Wednesday for the second time in two days.

Channel 2 Action News reported that a brick was thrown through the glass door of Poplar Spring United Methodist Church on Cascade Road near Fulton Industrial Boulevard around 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Early Tuesday, a piece of a cemetery headstone was hurled through the door. Each time, an alarm sounded, and the intruders ran off without taking anything, the station reported.

"I don't know if somebody's got a grudge against us, or if somebody's just really trying to get in here," church official James Farmer told Channel 2.

This week's incidents followed an earlier burglary attempt about six months ago.

"I wish they would stop doing it because it's costing the church money," Farmer said about the repeated replacement of the $800 glass doors.

"If they're hungry or something, they need to come to the church and ask the church to help them instead of tearing up something," he said. "If they're hungry or homeless, we could have helped them."
