Renovation of Snellville’s Towne Green project has been delayed after bids for the project came in over budget. Two bids were received for the project to revamp the green space in front of city hall. Only one of the two proposals was a complete bid. The price from the vendor submitting the complete bid was $499,000, exceeding the city’s projected budget by more than $100,000.
Both Snellville’s staff and the design team are in agreement the project should not move forward at this time and will meet with stakeholders in the near future to discuss potential project direction.
