Anticipated increased property values will most likely result in higher taxes unless Snellville leaders vote to lower the current millage rate of 4.588 mils. By keeping the 2019 millage rate the same as last year, Snellville must notify property owners of a 4.63 percent increase in property taxes.

The city will conduct public hearings to learn more about the proposed tax increase at 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday, June 27 at City Hall, 2342 Oak Road. A third public hearing will be held before the city council votes to approve the 2019 millage rate at 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 8.

The proposed tax increase for a home valued at $200,000 is about $16.24. A commercial property valued at $550,000 will see an increase of $44.66.
