Snellville’s mayor and city council have appointed two new members to the city’s Planning Commission. Bill Kingsbury and Maxine Finch-Stutes will join the six-member commission.

Kingsbury is a planning and development consultant to both the private and public sectors and a real estate agent. He replaces Cristy Lenski who resigned from the commission to run for city council.

Finch-Stutes is employed in the workforce management industry and said she “has a passion for change and driving solutions to enrich our community and neighboring towns.” She fills a vacancy on the board left by Jackie Ginn in November 2014.

The planning commission provides recommendations for land use applications, rezoning applications and conditional and special purpose use applications. The commission makes amendments to zoning ordinances and development regulations, and provides the mayor and council with recommendations to change or update the city’s planning documents including the city’s comprehensive plan.
