Smyrna police believe this man is behind at least two bank robberies in its jurisdiction and others around metro Atlanta.

Smyrna police are working to identify a man accused of robbing at least two banks in its jurisdiction.

Smyrna police say Wells Fargo at 5300 United Drive was robbed around 3:45 p.m. Feb. 24. Three days later, Fifth Third Bank at 3240 South Cobb Drive was robbed just before noon Feb. 27, the department added.

According to surveillance photos shared by Smyrna police, the man appears to approach the teller and show a note written on a small piece of paper.

Smyrna police say the robberies “have been committed by the same individual at several banks” across metro Atlanta.

The man is described as a male in his mid-30s with a medium-brown complexion. He has a husky build, and was last seen wearing a hooded, gray Champion sweatshirt, dark-colored sweatpants and black sneakers. Police say he was also wearing a surgical mask during each robbery.

Smyrna police is working with the FBI and other police departments to identify and arrest the accused bank robber.
