The Smyrna City Council voted recently to possibly take seven more properties for Windy Hill Road improvements in addition to the nine parcels approved in February.

Councilwoman Susan Wilkinson was opposed for the second time to this eminent domain and Councilman Corky Welsh was absent.

Previously, Wilkinson said she was not sure if Cobb County had given approval.

In favor were Councilwomen Teri Anulewicz and Andrea Blustein and Councilmen Ron Fennel, Derek Norton and Doug Stoner.

The parcels are next to the existing right of way and within an area stretching from Windy Hill Road’s intersections with Atlanta Road to South Cobb Drive.

Addresses include 615, 675, 815, 825, 901, 907 and 925 Windy Hill Road.

During the March 30 work session, City Attorney Scott Cochran said he guessed a few of the property owners will settle with the city.
