A fundraiser has already pulled in tens of thousands of dollars in donations for a Smyrna father of two who was killed in a car crash a couple days before Christmas.

Maurio Andrews, 32, was heading north on I-75 when his truck rear-ended a tractor-trailer that had stalled due to a malfunction.

The crash snarled traffic for hours between Windy Hill and Delk roads Friday.

Since the crash, more than 330 people have donated more than $31,000 to a GoFundMe campaign. The fundraiser was created on behalf of his wife and their children, ages 8 and 2.

“We are overwhelmed with the amount of support that everyone has shown in support of the Andrews family,” the GoFundMe page read.

With such a strong response, the goal was increased to $35,000.

The fundraiser organizer was not immediately available for comment.

Andrews attended the University of Florida, which is where he pledged Alpha Phi Alpha’s Theta Sigma chapter in spring of 2004.

The school's chapter posted about Andrews' death, sending condolences for their fraternity brother.

A memorial service in Dunwoody was planned for Thursday, and his funeral is slated for Saturday in Pensacola, Florida.

“Though we know he will spend the rest of eternity with Jesus, we will miss his infectious laugh, his warm spirit and his kind and loving heart,” read the GoFundMe page.
