A national smoothie cafe company is expanding its headquarters in a recently renovated Dunwoody office building.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe has had office space at 1117 Perimeter Center West since 2013, but announced in a statement Tuesday it is nearly doubling its size to 25,330 square feet.
The company has more than 720 locations across the country, including several in metro Atlanta.
The deal establishes the new space as the location of Tropical Smoothie Cafe’s support center and headquarters for the next 10 years, the company said.
The office, located just north of I-285 and east of Ga. 400, was recently renovated to include a number of new amenities. With the smoothie company’s expansion, it is now 89 percent occupied, and Tropical Smoothie Company is its largest tenant.
"The expansion of our Support Center space will accommodate us as we continue to grow the support functions for a brand with our huge growth opportunity. In 2018 alone, Tropical Smoothie Cafe opened 110 new cafes, and we have 130 new cafe openings planned for 2019," Charles Watson, Tropical Smoothie Cafe’s CEO, said in the statement.
