Bobbie Robinson and her business partner opened Harold’s Chicken & Ice Bar on Edgewood Avenue one year ago this month. Since then, the Sweet Auburn Historic District restaurant and sports bar, which fronts the under construction Atlanta Streetcar line, has been broken into three times.

The most recent burglary happened before daybreak Friday.

“Someone threw something in our front glass window and stole two 52-inch televisions that were on the wall,” a frustrated Robinson told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“They broke in two days in a row a few months ago,” she said. “They took one TV one day, and the next day, they came in and took two televisions.”

After those incidents, Robinson installed burglar bars over a side door that the thieves used to gain entry, but she said she was trying to avoid covering the front windows of her restaurant with the bars.

Now, now, she’s re-thinking that strategy.

“They’re trying to uglify our place,” Robinson said. “We were trying to keep it from [burglar] bars being all across, but we have to do what we have to do to protect our business.”
