A day after officials locked down the Paulding County courthouse due to so-called threats, the sheriff's office said Wednesday there were no threats.

About 10:18 a.m. Tuesday, the sheriff’s office received information that a person made threats related to a property auction that was to take place at the courthouse, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.

However, “the allegations of threats were not substantiated and were determined to be from third hand information,” Deputy Donny Pace told The AJC on Wednesday.

The courthouse was locked down for precautionary reasons until about 11:23 a.m. There were no injuries during the incident.

“No charges are anticipated in reference to the courthouse incident,” Pace said.
