Seven people were killed in wrecks across Georgia during the Memorial Day holiday weekend, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Six of the fatal crashes were investigated by GSP troopers working out of Milledgeville, Washington, Reidsville, Thomasville and Brunswick. The seventh traffic fatality was reported by Fulton County police.

The GSP investigated a total of 490 crashes during the period, which began at 6 p.m Friday and ended at midnight Monday.

There were 258 injuries in those wrecks, according to the GSP.
