As the second rabies alert in a week is announced in Henry County, officials are reminding residents that the next low-cost vaccination clinic at Henry County Animal Care and Control is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon June 9.

The vaccination costs $15.

The department got a call May 26 that a cat had attacked and scratched or bitten members of a family. Test results were positive and all eight members of the victim’s family who had handled the animal will undergo rabies treatments.

A 45-day rabies alert was announced as required by law for the area of 155 Trace Drive in Stockbridge.
