Fayette County is accepting applications to fill an unexpired term on its Board of Tax Assessors.
The three-member body meets on the third Thursday of each month at the Administrative Complex in Fayetteville. Members must be county residents over 21 years old with at least a high school or equivalent diploma, and have a minimum of one year of experience in appraisal-related work. Applicants must complete an assessor examination; members must complete 40 hours of training upon appointment. Board members will be paid $22.05 per hour but may not hold any other county, state or municipal office during their tenure. The open term being filled will expire on Dec. 31, 2021.
Applications are downloadable at www.fayettecountyga.gov under the Public Notices section of the homepage, and must be submitted by Nov. 15.
