Agencies suspended the search Friday for a 23-year-old woman who went missing this week from Lake Lanier. The effort to find Lizeth Ruby Ruiz of Gainesville had resumed earlier Friday, but was subject to weather conditions, said Gainesville police spokesman Sgt. Kevin Holbrook.

“The search will continue on the water Monday,” Holbrook said.

Searchers found some clothing and personal items that may belong to Ruiz, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Ruiz has not been seen since Wednesday night. She was socializing with friends at Lanier Point Park in Hall County when she became separated from them, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported. She has not been seen since.

The search effort includes police and fire officials from Gainesville and Hall County, the Hall sheriff’s office and the state Department of Natural Resources.

Anyone with information on Ruiz is asked to call 911.
