Nearly a dozen construction projects at Fayette County schools are at or nearing completion. Facilities Director Mike Satterfield updated the Board of Education at its Oct. 7 work session regarding 10 indoor and outdoor renovations.

The McIntosh High School addition has been completed, and equipment is now being installed at the new Sandy Creek High School film lab. Road improvements to relieve traffic backups are in place at North Fayette Elementary, and the school’s gym connector is almost complete. The new bus loop and parking lots have been installed at Oak Grove Elementary, and construction will soon begin on its gym and administrative offices. A new track has been installed at Whitewater High School, and McIntosh High’s replacement track is underway. In Fayetteville, the exterior of the field house at Fayette County High is being worked on, and plans are being developed to renovate the Technology Services area of the LaFayette Educational Center.
