Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast for Monday afternoon and evening, and that forecast should hold true all the way through Friday.

The National Weather Service said this week’s storms will be isolated across north Georgia and more numerous across the middle part of the state.

The main threats with any storms that develop will be occasional lightning, brief heavy rainfall and gusty winds, the Weather Service said.

Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton put metro Atlanta’s chance of rain at 30 percent each day this week.

Afternoon highs will be in the upper 80s, with overnight lows in the low 70s, Minton said.
