The Community Assistance Center, a Sandy Springs-based social services provider, announced plans to open a new branch office near I-285 and North Shallowford Road in Dunwoody.

The office is scheduled to be open from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. It will evaluate clients for assistance to basic needs – financial, food and clothing; register qualified families for seasonal programs such as Adopt-a-Family, Tools for School and Summer Lunches for Kids; and offer a Client Choice Food Pantry on site.

The office will also provide information about other CAC services such as adult education classes, the thrift shop and free tax return preparation, officials said. Volunteers are being sought to help staff the facility. Interested persons can contact Volunteer Coordinator Nolan Feintuch at volunteer@ourcac.org

Other CAC offices are in Sandy Springs. Its main office is at 1130 Hightower Trail. It has a branch at 120 Northwood Drive, and a food pantry and Upscale Thrift Shop at 8607 Roswell Road. The organization serves Sandy Springs, Dunwoody and the Hightower Elementary School attendance area in Doraville.
