Planned improvements to improve traffic flow and safety at Roswell and Grogans Ferry roads will be described at a public information open house scheduled by Sandy Springs for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26.

The event will take place in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 7840 Roswell Road, Building 500. The city proposes to realign the intersection and install a traffic signal. The intersection currently has stop signs on side street approaches.

The improvements are necessary, according to a city announcement, as travel speeds on Roswell Road at Grogans Ferry are too high for existing conditions. “Between 2014 and 2016, there were 27 accidents and 56 injuries reported related to this intersection,” the city said.

The work is in keeping with the Next Ten Small Area Plan for Roswell Road, officials said. It will be funded by the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax approved by voters last November.
