Weather permitting, the intersection of Sandy Springs Circle and Mount Vernon Highway in downtown Sandy Springs will be closed during the daylight hours July 7 through July 10 for emergency conduit repairs, city officials announced.

The road will be open between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Message boards will be in place. Drivers are advised to watch for detour routes.

Elsewhere in Sandy Springs, work is to begin this week for drainage improvements in the vicinity of Kayron Drive and Hammond Drive, and Kayron between Hammond and Valley Lane NE will be closed from July 20 to Aug. 3.

Site Engineering, contractor for the city, is expected to complete the job by mid August. Work will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Drivers are advised to expect minor delays and to watch for workers directing traffic, the city says.

Lane closures also will affect the Peachtree Dunwoody Road/Hammond turn lane from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through July for wall construction and other work.
