The Sandy Springs City Council has approved a $662,400 contract to make improvements to a culvert under Glenridge Drive.

Site Engineering Inc. was selected for the work, which involves dealing with significant cracking and evidence of soil infiltration inside the approximately 10-by-11-foot culvert, Public Works Director William H. Martin Jr. said in a report to the council. The culvert is about 1,000 feet north of Abernathy Road.

“Both ends of the culvert will be extended and proper headwalls will be constructed,” Martin said. “A structurally independent spin cast liner will be installed inside the existing culvert.”

Site Engineering also has a contract with Fulton County to re-route a sanitary sewer that goes through the culvert, Martin said. “Awarding the contract to Site Engineering allows the contractor to execute the projects back to back, minimizing coordination efforts and disruption to the affected property owners,” he said.
