Sandy Springs officials want to make it easier for residents to get the word on pending development project requests. They’ve unveiled a redesigned format for notifications that developers will place at the site of proposed rezonings or other changes.

The signs are much larger (4-feet by 8 feet) because residents told the city that the existing messages are too difficult to read. The signs also list case numbers as well as whether the change is a rezoning, a variance or a use permit change, and gives the dates of hearings before the planning commission and city council.

The city said the new signage requirement went into effect Jan. 1.
