No injuries were reported in a fire Wednesday morning that damaged several units of a Sandy Springs apartment complex.

The blaze broke out around 8 a.m. at the Pointe at Canyon Ridge apartments on Roswell Road near Northridge Road.

Sandy Springs Fire Marshal Jeff Scarbrough told the AJC that the first firefighters to arrive found "heavy fire and smoke blowing out the front" of the 10-unit building.

"We went in with a hand line and knocked the initial fire down pretty quick," Scarbrough said. The fire,  which had also gotten into the attic of the building, was doused in about 25 minutes by firefighters from both Sandy Springs and Roswell.

Two units were heavily damaged, Scarbrough said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, he said.
