A traffic signal was gone Tuesday and a three-way stop is only temporary as a North Fulton intersection heads toward becoming a roundabout.
It may seem like a ... non-straight-path way to get there, but workers at Mayfield Road and Charlotte Drive are laying temporary pavement, striping and traffic barrels to direct drivers.
Plans gave no timeline given for when the temporary three-way stop will end.
"We recognize transportation projects can be challenging, and we appreciate your patience as we work to complete this project designed to help alleviate congestion at the intersection," the city said.

Milton planning documents show the intersection, near the downtown Milton Library and on the border of Alpharetta, is slated to cost $3.6 million.
The project is part of the TSPLOST, or Transportation Special Purpose Local-Option Sales Tax, approved by voters in 2016. It is expected to bring in $37 million.

Roundabouts became all the rage in traffic calming in Georgia a few years ago. In the decade after 2005, more than 145 roundabouts were built throughout the state.
The Mayfield/Charlotte roundabout ties into the Crabapple Northeast Connector Roadway project, which also carries a pricetag of $3.6 million.
