Roswell City Council welcomed a new member Monday night.
Donald Horton, who beat out four other candidates to capture the vacant Post 3 council seat in the Nov. 3 election, was sworn in at the outset of the meeting.
Horton won 65 percent of the vote last week to take the place of Betty Price, who resigned to successfully run for a state House seat. Horton has said he’ll push for limitations on density in city redevelopment projects and a greater focus on rehabbing rundown shopping centers and other properties in busy corridors.
The council also approved a resolution refining criteria for prioritizing building sidewalk connections to increase walkability. The resolution outlined nine projects that would be at the top of the city’s “to-do” list the list using the established criteria over the next four years, including stretches of Holcomb Bridge, Nesbitt Ferry and Dogwood roads.
