Roswell residents will have the opportunity to get ride of toxic materials lying around the house at a household hazardous waste collection on Saturday, March 14.
The city-hosted event is set for 9 a.m. to noon at the Public Works/Transportation/Fire facilities at 1810 Hembree Road. It is open to Roswell residents only – no commercial entities, according to a city announcement.
Accepted items will include paint thinner/turpentine, pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, flea and tick products, fungicides, rodenticides, fertilizers, undiluted pool chemicals, household cleaners, fluorescent bulbs, propane gas cylinders, mercury thermometers/thermostats, non-rechargeable household batteries, aerosols including aerosol paint, automotive brake fluid, used motor oil filters and gasoline.
“The CARE Environmental Corp. will be handling and disposing of the materials,” the city said. “Materials may not be dropped off prior to the event.”
