Work will start Feb. 2 on two projects designed to speed traffic and ease congestion along Ga. 140 (Holcomb Bridge Road) at Ga. 400, according to The city of Roswell and the Georgia DOT.
The first will eliminate the Ga. 140 eastbound left-turn “trap lane” approaching Old Alabama Road, by adding a right-turn lane to the existing Ga. 400 northbound ramp to reduce weaving and lane-changing. It will also lengthen the left-turn lane to Ga. 400 southbound from westbound Holcomb Bridge.
The second will build a new westbound lane between Old Alabama Road and the Ga. 400 northbound on-ramp. Also included are intersection upgrades at the intersections of Old Alabama Road and Market Boulevard.
The projects are being done by Vertical Earth Inc. for about $3.3 million and are set to be done in September.
