An Alpharetta woman was cited Sunday on animal cruelty charges after Roswell police say they discovered her dog living among large piles of its own waste.

Karina Gomez-Urbina, 30, is accused of keeping her white husky dog in a screened porch and having it live with its own manure and urine.
A woman living at Nesbit Ferry Crossing Apartments called police and told them she saw the dog sitting around 15 to 20 different piles of feces and urine, according to an incident report.
Authorities noticed a strong odor of urine and bile when they arrived at the apartment. The porch was littered with 20 piles of feces, police said, adding the dog had little room to sit that was not covered in waste.
A child at the home told police his family does not like the dog, therefore, it gets left outside.
Police gave her options on how to give away the dog.
