The Roswell City Council has recommended a food pantry, special needs group home and nine other initiatives for $466,485 in federal Community Development Block Grant funding.

Pending approval of the city's 2018 Annual Action Report by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, North Fulton Community Charities would got $76,544 to expand its food pantry and thrift store on Elkins Road; and Enable of Georgia Inc., $72,550 to rehabilitate its group home for adults with special needs. The biggest grant, $93,297, would fund a grants specialist for the Roswell Administration and Planning Department.

Other recipients would include Habitat for Humanity of North Central Georgia,$50,000 for a homeowner repair program for Roswell residents; HomeStretch Housing Initiative, $43,875 to rehab transitional housing units; and the Roswell Housing Authority, $41,200 to renovate and make accessibility improvements at the Myrtle Street Apartments.
