Roswell has announced a new open records request process that officials say will make transparent government more convenient for the public.

Requests for general public information and police records will be possible through a “user-friendly online form” beginning Monday, Oct. 15, officials said. Currently, requests must be made by e-mail or by downloading a paper form and submitting them physically or electronically.

The new system, JustFOIA, was designed by government technology company MCCi and is used by localities throughout the country, officials said. To access it beginning Oct. 15, go to: www.roswellgov.com/OpenRecords.

“The city’s new system will help streamline the open records request process for citizens and improve efficiencies for staff—saving time, money and resources,” said City Clerk Marlee Press.
