A robbbery suspect is claiming retaliation as the motive for an attack that left him with a gunshot wound in the leg.

On Sunday, Atlanta police responded to a report of a shooting and found Isaiah Burt, 25, shot in the leg.

Police learned that Alpharetta authorities had issued a warrant for Burt in connection with an attempted robbery at the Dillard’s store at North Point Mall on Nov. 29, according to George Gordon, spokesman for Alpharetta police.

Burt told Atlanta police he had been shot — apparently in retaliation — by the brother of one of three other suspects arrested in the incident at the mall, Gordon said.

Burt was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

Burt and the three other men — identified as Raheem Littlejohn, 31, Sequan Williamson, 22 and Dexter Williamson, 19, all of Atlanta — allegedly stole clothing from the Dillard’s store at the mall and left in a white Chevrolet Impala, Gordon said.

Officers pursued the car and the three suspects were captured after a chase southbound on Ga. 400.

All four suspects are being held at the Fulton County jail.
