Roasters Coffee Café is supporting a young boy’s fight against Hodgkin lymphoma by raising funds throughout the month of June.

Amy DeCosmo, whose 5-year-old son, Parker, was diagnosed with lymphoma, set a goal to raise $100,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Once she achieves her goal, she promises to shave her head and donate her hair to the nonprofit Locks for Lymphoma.

Hodgkin lymphoma is a cancer of the lymph nodes, which compromises the body’s ability to fight infection.

Zechariah Meyer of Roasters Coffee Café in Cedar Park said DeCosmo visited the café and explained her goal.

“We knew as a coffee shop something had to be done, so we constructed a plan of action to help her become bald, and to see 5-year-old Parker cancer-free,” Meyer wrote in an email.

To help DeCosmos reach her goal, the café is donating all electronic tips given to staff during the month of June to the nonprofit Locks for Lymphoma. On Saturday, all profits made by the café from noon to 9 p.m. will go directly to the cause.

To make a direct donation to Parker, visit the café on Saturday or make an online donation at pages.teamintraining.org/vtnt/Yosemit13/adecosmj9e. Roasters is located at 2011 Little Elm Trail in Cedar Park.
