Riverdale will soon offer longer hours for those needing to visit City Hall, but it will come at a cost.

The Clayton County city is going to a four-day work week beginning June 1. City Hall and the Riverdale city office at 971 Wilson Road will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday. Both locations will be closed on Fridays.

City officials said the change is temporary, but did not have an end date for the new scheduling. The city said it hopes the move will make it easier for residents who struggled to get to City Hall by its earlier closing time of 5 p.m.

The changes will not affect the days of operation for the Riverdale Town Center facility or police and fire departments. Town Center will be open to the public Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m and Saturdays from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
