The Marietta City Council agreed recently to an expansion plan for A.G. Rhodes Cobb, providing long-term care and rehabilitation services for senior citizens.
The rezoning from Light Industrial to Office Institutional affects 2.49 acres at 880 Wylie Road.
Speaking on behalf of A.G. Rhodes Health & Rehab, attorney Kevin Moore said the company bought this parcel in 2003 and has plans to do “a complete redevelopment” of this site, including the present facility at 900 Wylie Road.
The Marietta facility was built in 1992 and now provides for 130 residents.
Besides the one in Marietta, the nonprofit company has two more metro Atlanta locations and was founded in 1897 with land and funds donated by Amos Giles Rhodes, founder of the former Rhodes Furniture.
