The Georgia Department of Transportation has awarded a resurfacing project on State Route 211 to C.W. Matthews Contracting Co. Inc. of Marietta.

The 5.257-mile project will stretch from Barrow, Gwinnett and Hall counties. Project limits begin on State Route 211 north of the I-85 bridge and extend south of State Route 53.

The $1.7 million investment is scheduled to be complete by Aug. 31. As soon as GDOT completes an initial meeting with the contractor, a start date and specific lane closures will be released.
