Reported problems with voting machines at Therrell High School Tuesday morning caused frustrated voters to take to social media.

Officials are unclear on what caused the issue, but say the problems have been fixed.

Delays at the poll early Tuesday morning led at least one voter to claim there were efforts to suppress votes at the polling place.

Kelley Bass Jackson shot a Facebook video from Therrell after she said she saw a stalled line, was told machines were down and heard it would be a four- hour wait.

There’s “no excuse” for the machines not work, she said.

“This is one of the biggest elections of our lifetime, next to Barack Obama,” Jackson said. “So to see this happening, it’s disheartening, it’s devastating, it’s very upsetting. I want everyone to know we need to do something about it.”

John Eaves, Fulton County chairman, came over after getting a call that there was a "challenge" at the location.

“From what I can tell, it’s been resolved,” he said. “Hopefully this is isolated.”

Eaves said that while it would be a violation for him to go inside, he came to “at least talk to some of the voters.”

Richard Barron, Fulton’s director of elections and registration, said there was no truth to the social media reports.

“There seems to be a rumor that isn’t true," Barron said in an email. "The poll manager had to reset express polls two different times. They’ve already processed more than 300 voters today. Right now, she’s processing voters. She’s processing voters as fast as she can. We don’t want to see anybody leave because of equipment malfunction. We do encourage them to go back.”
