One day after being released from jail, a Boston man is accused of killing one man and seriously injuring another at a Georgia motel.

John Taylor, 32, was arrested Saturday morning after allegedly beating two men at the Ambassador Inn in Twiggs County, The Macon Telegraph reported.

Motel owner Roma Patel called deputies after Taylor was seen beating the maintenance man, 76-year-old Robert Eugene Saul, of Jeffersonville, Twiggs County Sheriff Darren Mitchum told the newspaper. Saul was cleaning a toilet when Taylor allegedly struck him numerous times in the head with a tool. Saul is hospitalized in critical condition.

Witnesses told deputies they previously saw Taylor driving a vehicle that belonged to Gene Allen Musgrave, who lived at the motel, according to the report. When deputies went to Musgrave's room, they found him dead.

Taylor, who had been jailed on disorderly conduct charges in Jeffersonville, faces numerous charges and was being held without bond Sunday night.
