Residents and business owners in Sandy Springs must now have rain sensors on all new irrigation systems.

A recently approved local law requiring rain sensor shut-offs and/or freeze sensors is designed to encourage water conservation and help the city with its water-shortage measures.

The sensors are required on all new irrigation systems, except for golf courses or any other systems that do not rely on public water.

For more information, call the city’s community development office at 770-730-5600 or visit www.sandyspringsga.org.
