Henry County announced a 45-day rabies alert for a half-mile area around the 100 block of Turner Grove Lane in McDonough. The county’s animal control department received a call Oct. 1 about a raccoon killed by two dogs. The remains of the raccoon were taken to the Georgia Public Health Laboratory for rabies testing, and the results came back positive for the rabies virus, according to county officials.
