The state Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting this week to gather public input on a proposed widening of Panola Road.
The agency is developing plans for the possible widening of the road between Snapfinger Road and Covington Highway. Work would be done in five segments, starting in 2019.
The meeting and open house runs from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Lou Walker Senior Center, 2538 Panola Road, near Lithonia.
Plan displays are also available for viewing at the DOT office at 805 George Luther Dr., near Decatur, and the county’s transportation office, 1960 W. Exchange Place, Tucker.
