Democrat voters outnumbered those on the Republican side by a 2-to-1 margin in Henry County’s primary election.

The numerous presidential candidates on the Democrat ballot garnered 34,282 votes, with nearly 90 percent for former vice p resident Joe Biden. President Donald Trump, the only Republican candidate, received 17,386 votes.

By contrast, the 2012 primary in Henry County saw more than 70 percent of voters cast Republican ballots, and the November 2016 general election was the first in two decades in which Democrats received more voters overall than Republicans.
