Power outage at Cobb daycare causes early pickup

A power outage at a Marietta daycare caused parents to pick up children early Tuesday.

A message from Bentley KinderCare asked parents to come get their kids from the 2675 Bentley Road facility.

A person at the center confirmed the outage when contacted by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, but the line disconnected shortly after.

The daycare center offers drop-off and pickup service to and from Brumby, Powers Ferry, East Valley, Lockheed and Sedalia Park elementary schools, according to its website.

The facility is licensed to have 159 children, according to the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning.

Bentley KinderCare has been rated two out of three stars by the state, which means it "meets many quality benchmarks, and scores well on the independent observation."

Cobb County and Marietta officials were not immediately available to comment on the extent of the outage.
