The Powder Springs City Council approved $509,119 on Oct. 1 for such projects as a new water line and a new fire alarm system.

Projects include:

  • nearly $461,909 to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder Ardito Construction for the water line replacement in the right-of-way of Sharon Drive.
  • $25,000 from the city's contingency fund to pay John Culpepper to develop an operations and capital budget for fiscal year 2020 and a five-year capital improvement program.
  • $12,900 ($1,075/month) to continue to lease multi-functional copiers and managed print services from Edge Business Systems.
  • $9,310 to Knine All Systems to install a fire alarm system at City Hall. Currently, the city has a security monitoring agreement with Knine which has provided and installed alarm, monitoring and security systems in various city facilities.
