The Powder Springs Downtown Development Authority has awarded its first restaurant grant to Second Plate Buffet, 4456 Marietta St., owned by Joyce Edwards.
This grant provides up to $10,000 for internal and external renovations of restaurants willing to relocate to the city’s downtown.
Three new restaurants applied for the grant with the review committee deciding to give Second Plate $7,000 of the $10,000 available funds.
At Second Plate, diners are served their choice of food from the buffet and, if desired, they are served a second plate of anything they would like to try.
Second Plate is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m. Fridays, 4 to 9 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.
