The Powder Springs City Council voted Monday 5-0 to approve a special use request for Robert Gestler to open his business for the manufacturing and renovation of elevators for three years.
Gestler plans to move his Elevations South from Hiram to the nearly 6,000-square-foot building at 4505 Atlanta St. that was built in 1910 and sits on almost a third acre.
There can be no outside storage or outside renovations - though a small parking pad for no more than 10 employees and an enclosed dumpster may be installed.
Because of the historical value of the now-vacant warehouse, wall signage will be allowed but not on the brick.
