Porter appointed to judicial watchdog agency

Patsy Porter, chief judge of the Fulton County State Court, has been appointed to serve on the seven-member Judicial Qualifications Commission.

Porter, appointed by the Georgia Supreme Court, will replace Muscogee County Superior Court Judge John Allen, who once chaired the judicial watchdog agency. Porter will serve the remainder of Allen’s term on the commission beginning Sept. 1 through Jan. 4, 2015. Porter was appointed to the Fulton bench by Gov. Zell Miller in 1996.
