An SUV plowed into a Waffle House at the height of lunchtime in Cobb County Wednesday, according to police.
Police said the 60-year-old driver finished having lunch with his wife when he accidentally drove forward instead of in reverse.
The accident happened on Sandy Plains Road in Marietta, according to police.
A witness told Channel 2 Action News that she heard the Honda Element crash through the front glass of the restaurant.
“The workers were running around making sure everyone outside was OK," Hannah Shlapak said.
A Waffle House spokesperson said that there were no serious injuries from the crash.
“He seemed calm," Shlapak said of the driver. "I think he was mostly embarrassed, which is understandable."
The Waffle House in Marietta said it will reopen after the windows are repaired.
