Fulton County police are investigating a fatal stabbing on Kelden Circle.
It happened Saturday just before 9:30 a.m.
Police said 72-year-old Ronald Thompson Sr., went into his son’s room and hit him with a skillet. The son, identified as 47-year-old Ronald Thompson Jr., then grabbed a knife and stabbed his father in the throat.
Police said the Thompson Sr. then staggered to a neighbor’s home and collapsed.
Martha Barber said she and her husband were getting ready for work when someone started to ring their doorbell frantically. She said she looked outside and saw her Thompson Sr. covered in blood.
“He repeated over and over, 'my son stabbed me, my stabbed me,’” Barber said.
A neighbor told police the Thompson Jr. left in a red 2000 Ford Taurus.
Meanwhile, his father lay dying in his neighbor's carport.
“We got towels and stayed with him until the EMTs came. Like 5 minutes before they came, my husband said he started gurgling and he knew he had passed,” Barber said.
Police said Thompson Jr.’s hair is now a salt/pepper mix, mainly at the roots.
Neighbors are worried Thompson Jr. will return home.
Gloria Bell lives right next door.
“If he's in the house and he's right next door to me, I don't want that. I don't want him to be here,” Bell said.
If anyone has information as to his whereabouts they are asked to contact Fulton County Police at 404-730-7911.
Do not attempt to approach Thompson as he is considered armed and dangerous.
