Police in Johns Creek are searching for a man who broke into an SUV in broad daylight at Newtown Park and stole a black leather tote on Jan. 4.

Police did not disclose how much money and what else was inside the tote.

The incident was caught by surveillance footage. The suspect is described as a male wearing a black ski mask and a white hooded sweatshirt.

Police said the crime happened around 8 a.m. that morning. The suspect shattered the front passenger window of the car, reached in, grabbed the tote and left in a black 2015 Infiniti Q50. The suspect’s car was missing a rear license plate.
