Police: Man had gun at Conyers school

Conyers police have arrested a man who allegedly had a gun on school property earlier this week.

Timothy Alan Wells, 53, was seen loitering near Pine Street Elementary School and possibly dumpster diving Wednesday morning, Conyers police said in a statement. Local residents reportedly saw him at the school again on Thursday and notified police, identifying the man as “Tim.”

The same day, police made contact with Wells at his home in the 1200 block of Cardinal Road. He was arrested and charged with carrying a weapon in a school safety zone, police said.
